I have been making jewellery for over 25 years. My journey with metal began when I enrolled in a Bachelor of Education in Visual Arts in Melbourne, majoring in metalwork. Back then I loved working with copper and used to create large scale sculptural pieces.

A sculpture studio however, was not a practical option when I discovered my love of travel. So, I started working on a much smaller scale, swapping sculpture for jewellery. My jewellery tools all fit into a decent sized case that I took everywhere (back when it was ok to have saws, files and other sharp objects in one’s hand carry on a plane).

I lived in London initially, and then came back to Australia. A few years later I found myself living in Indonesia, Azerbaijan and eventually Scotland. My teaching degree allowed for a life of travel, and I found myself teaching art and design technology in international schools.

After 11 years abroad, I found myself back in Australia with a couple of children in tow. After too many years of cold weather, Brisbane was the perfect place to call home. I now love nothing more than being in my studio, creating.

I feel very passionate about sharing this beautiful craft with others, and thus look forward to sharing knowledge in a workshop environment.
